Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's tallest mountain and one of the world's most iconic climbs. Rising from the savannah to a snow-capped summit, the mountain offers several trek routes through rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and glacial zones. No technical mountaineering skills are required, but good fitness and proper acclimatisation are essential. Kilimanjaro National Park surrounds the peak and also supports forest wildlife and spectacular views of the surrounding plains.

Year-Round Weather in Mount Kilimanjaro

Temperatures vary dramatically with altitude. Lower slopes are warm and humid; the summit can drop below freezing. Dry seasons (Jan–Mar and Jun–Oct) are preferred for climbing. Rainy seasons make trails muddy and cloud cover heavier.
